Pulp Arcade
I have it mostly working. I have to fix a few things like the comments. The real kicker is images will not display properly in Internet Explorer. I HATE IE!!!! GAAAHHHH!!!! ARRRRGHHHH!!!!!! Stupid frickin' proprietary software.
How it is supposed to be displayed:

How Internet Explorer displays it:

So far that's on two people's computers. It worked fine in Firefox for them. I'm going to fish around more and find out if it happens to others. If you want to check if it works on your browser or not, go to this link.
Everyone please, switch to another browser. I don't care what. Just do yourself a favour, and the rest of the computing world, and stop using the worse web browser known to mankind.

I miss Bernadette.
A few days ago was my mom's 65th birthday and my brother's 24th. I gave them the "happy birthday" call. After talking to them, I felt really sad. It would have been my aunt's 65th birthday, too (mom's twin). Instead of calling her in New York, which I can never do again, I cried a little.

Happy Belated Halloween!
Next year, I'll find a good costume contest to enter instead of sit around waiting to pass out candy. I love passing out candy, but we only had four kids!! Not worth sticking around. You lose children of Vegreville! There was free candy to be had and you had none.
Here is a shot of my costume. Boring and lazy.

We made some kick ass Halloween gingerbread. I'll post pictures once we complete the project.

Does Sony Want Me to Boycott Them?
Sony is going insane! Recently, it was discovered some Sony/BMG audio CDs are installing malware onto people's computers. Now there are reports that Sony has filed a patten on a technology that would prevent you from using a game on more than one console.
Originally posted on boingboing.net New Sony lockware prevents selling or loaning of games
Sony has filed for a patent for a technology to tether a video-game to a console so that you can't sell it, loan it out, play it on a new console after your existing one is stolen or damaged, etc. Some speculate that this is intended for use with the PS3, but wherever it's deployed, it's very consistent with Sony's ongoing contempt for its customers. Once you've installed rootkits onto everyone's PCs, what's a little unfair trade practices aimed at killing the aftermarket?
The technology would allow an authentication code to be read and then rendered unreadable, making the software unplayable on any machine but the one which first read it.
DRM is often touted as "enabling business models" -- e.g., the business-model of charging you more money if you want a version of the DVD that you can watch in more than one household -- but here we have it being teed up to destroy the business model of anyone who makes a little bread selling old games.
If this is used in the future, I will not bother buying any more Sony products. No game is so good that I can't bring it over to my brother's place to play there. Or can never buy used. Or cannot play upstairs and downstairs without moving the console around the house. Screw them!
Mind you, if Sony goes through with it, I bet if we give it a week some asian hacker will find a way around it.

My Mac Life
I got mentioned a couple of times in tonight's episode of Your Mac Life. They set up a Frappr map and I posted this picture which garnered some positive response. I must have grown up too tomboy or something because I never know what to say to compliments. >_< So I wrote in and explained my clothing and the weather. I'm so uncool!
But I have to admit it was a nice ego boost and I'm quite flattered. :o

BUYER BEWARE! Sony music CDs!
Here's hoping I can explain this so someone can understand what I'm talking about. I've decided not to buy CDs from Sony/BMG now (even though I'm on a Mac and is unaffected by this).
The short story: Sony is trying to copyright protect their CDs with something usually used for malicious reasons to screw up your system. With that program installed, it also makes your computer vulnerable to hacks and viruses. Trying to remove it might damage your computer.
The long version: They are secretly installing hidden software on computer systems from Audio CDs you purchase! It is supposed to ensure the CD can only be played using the media player that ships on the CD itself and that limits 3 copies at the most be made. But the way they're doing it is using Malware (malicious software) as a trojan horse to mess up your system. It basically hides a rootkit on your system and actually makes it easy for any hacker to enter it or makes your system vulnerable to viruses. Rootkits are difficult to detect and are things you want to avoid downloading by accident. They are difficult to remove and can potentially damage your system.
It's really technical but here is the full story in detail: Sony, Rootkits and Digital Rights Management Gone Too Far
Apparently, if you do not have ADMIN rights and you use the CD it won't install onto the system.
Way to go Sony. Now I don't want to legitimately buy music.
