Suck on it RBC
I went to the local Bank of Montreal and they fixed the everything wrong this Royal Bank transaction has caused me. I got every penny back and I didn't get hit with extra service charges (I would have fought it if I did get extra service charges). I guess any charges would be paid for by the RBC. Good stuff.

It was a bit weird being in the Bank of Montreal in Vegreville. The tellers were asking "you're Dean Welsh's girlfriend?" It was almost like being married to a rock star or something. Not that I mind, it just took me by surprise. And the service was top-notch. Ahh, small towns. I could get used to this!

Bloody Rose Likes Clean Goggles
My brother Stanley bought a bunch of candy that come with free toys that are perfect for 1/6 scale dolls.

"I used to have dirty goggles. I would crash into buildings when I was trying to cover the world with fire and death, or walk into walls at the rave. People would think I was high on E, but really, I just couldn't see where I was going! Then I discovered Re-ment Foods Cleansing Agent. Now my goggles are clear and shiny all night long."

RBC Royal Bank = EeeeeeeeeVIL!!
Yes, Banks are evil. Royal Bank is more evil than most, although I hear CIBC is the most evil. I make student loan payments every month and RBC decided "Hey! She doesn't have to pay until February 20th? Why don't we withdraw the money now instead?" Imagine my surprise to find my bank account to be missing $132. Lucky for me I had a fantastic operator that is straightening thing out for me now. It better get straightened out. But I honestly cannot wait to be rid of this Student Loan, which will rid me of doing any more business with the Royal Bank.

If you are having problems with Student Loans, here is a helpful site:

I haven't gotten to the point where I have to turn to them yet, but I'm pretty close.

Meat Cookies
So I've been staying at my mom's house this week and my brother Stanley came home from work and said, "LOOK WHAT I BOUGHT!!"

"MEAT COOKIES!" This one is Beef Steak flavoured.

Here are Roast Meat flavoured and Abolone flavoured.

They look innocent...

I tried one and if you can imagine a biscuit with Beef Bouillon powder in it, then that is what Beef Steak cookies taste like.

Approximately ten minutes after tasting:
If you can imagine lightly sweetened powdered beef bouillon in your teeth, that is the flavour that is still lingering in my mouth. I have to get some milk to wash this down.

Poor Mr. Hawking
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/allnews/page.cfm?objectid=13843849&method=full

Some people care about rock stars or movie actors. I guess I care more about scientists. Reports have been trickling in all week about bruises and other, more serious injuries found on Stephen Hawking. They say Hawking won't talk about his abuse, which is a common reaction from victims of abuse. If it is all true, it makes me feel sad.

Gong Hey Fat Choy!
Happy New Year! Welcome the year of the monkey!

I met up with my friend Robbin yesterday and my brother Stanley and I went shopping with her. It was mostly window shopping for me but I found some incredibly cheap cheap pants a the Le Chateau's factory outlet store. At Toys R Us, Stan bought a bunch of really fun props like the Barbie My Scene Discotheque. After that, Stan and I took a bunch of pictures using the disco. We spent too much time laughing but boy, it was fun. I probably won't post them here. Instead I'll save them for the Cool Girl / Cy Girls site, coming February 2004 (shameless plug)!

I can't wait to see Dean again. He's helping George move from Vancouver to Calgary. He's hoping to be in Edmonton tomorrow. We'll see. They just left Vancouver and I don't know if they have it in them to drive all the way tonight. I imagine they'll break up the trip into two parts.

Back to work for me today. I just got a pile of pages to do.

Wow! I Have Visitors!
I see I have a few people have been visiting my blog now. Thanks for coming by!

I've been ultra busy the last two days. I came to Edmonton and will stay the week, I've been flatting like a mad person, I've helped one friend with colouring/flatting issues and another with her ancient SLR camera (over instant messaging! IT WAS HARD!), my computer was wigging out and I fixed it (thanks to Dean for the help), my sister helped me with web site stuff, and I'm at my mom's house having a good time with my brothers.

Last post, I mentioned how I'm looking for a Nikki Cy Girl (aka Harley from the Cool Girl toyline). It is one of the hardest toys I've ever tried to track down, and people know me for tracking down those hard-to-find things. If it was as easy as going to the store and buying one, I would have owned one already!! (jeez, people!) I managed to find a couple of great people from the Men With Dolls Message Boards who are helping me find Nikki. Really friendly people there. I really appreciate it!

Turned My Frown Upside Down
I was kinda having a blah-ish day. Then I saw this headline and it made me laugh.

I like that the headline says he's insisting he has ideas.

Late Night
I ended up engaging in my first multi-person online chat on AOL Instant Messenger tonight. People involved were other artists from Gutterzombie. It was pretty refreshing to speak to people "live" as opposed to message boarding. Dave spoke of adding a "Chat" feature to Gutterzombie. Great! Now everyone will be chatting instead of working on our books. (Nah, it won't be that bad. We're a bunch of responsible adults. I think).

Been a while since I've posted a picture.
Here are some old custom Barbies I made.

From the comic series The Authority:
(from left to right) The Engineer, Jenny Sparks, Jack Hawksmoor

Other than that, I'm up late flatting a rather complicated page that I should have had further along if I wasn't chatting. I also took time out to check up on any Cool Girl/Cy Girls gaming news updates. They introduced some of the non-player characters in the game. They were quite different from the figure versions. I found it rather surprising.

Nothing Interesting To Read Here.
I haven't had enough sleep lately. It seems like the rest of the world wants me to stay awake. Nothing new to report. I've been working quite a bit the last couple of days.

Looks like I'll be in Edmonton for a few days next week. I'll get together with my brother Stanley and take goofy pictures of the Cool Girls for the Cool Girl / Cy Girls website. I think I'm still on schedule for it to be ready by February 1st. Other than that, if anyone wants to get together, send me an e-mail or something and we'll try to hook up.

Cross Country Skiing
Dean took me cross country skiing today just outside of Vegreville. This was my first time and everyone tells me I did pretty good (even though I fell over often). I really liked it! It was so fun! But now I'm tired and getting really sore because I was probably using muscles I rarely use. It's a good thing I cranked out three pages of work before I left because I doubt I'm up to do anything now.

Siiiiick.
I was getting better and now I have this death-headache that's pissing me off. It's so bad, I'm not flatting my comic pages, I'm not tinkering with web stuff (aside from this blog entry) and I'm not playing with my dollies! I'm just laying in bed with my two Listig pillows on my head.

Pimping my Swingin' Web Space
I've updated my Space Channel 5 fan page recently. There is a Fan Art Gallery (with one *gasp!* one piece of art so far) and I tweaked some of the little links I have to the Space Channel 5 desktop wallpapers. Most of the other sections still aren't up yet, but I'm working on it.

What I Miss About Edmonton
Looks like Project CG (my new nickname for my Cool Girl website project) is now on hold. After having about a week off, I have pages from two colourists to work on.

I've lived here for about three months and the question people ask me the most seems to be either "What do you think about Vegreville" or "What do you miss about Edmonton". I've thought about it. Aside from the obvious "I miss my family and friends" or Zellers or Ikea, I really miss Edmonton's smoking bylaw. Vegreville is stinky. More specifically, people are allowed to smoke inside most restaurants and in the shopping mall. Yick!

Hermit Steph
Wondering where I am or why I'm slow at responding e-mails recently? I got into designing a cool girls / cy girls website and I went from knowing basic html to a bit of javascript and CSS (I found out what I've taught myself is offered as a $300 12 hour course). It's a bit image-heavy, but I think the reason for my cool girl site is images, images, images! I'll post a link when it's ready. I'm really happy with the design so far. I guess that website is my current addiction, so blame the internet for my anti-social behaviour. But other than that, I've been sleeping lots (been a bit under the weather lately). I have nothing exciting to tell other than I bought the G-Force Cy Girl for cheap on eBay.

The house has been quiet since we're both up to our ears in web code. Dean's been sucked into working on his PHP code for his Vegreville.net comic (I'm in this week's installment). We haven't spoken to each other very much either. No really, nothing exciting to tell at all.

More Cool Stuff
Revenger Girl got a Game Boy Advanced SP for Christmas. Lucky girl!

Image from Yahoo Auctions

My Blog is being overrun with dolls. I think I have to make my Cool Girl / Cy Girls website soon.

Crashing Through The Snow. And Trees.
Happy New Years everyone!

Last year for New Years Eve a bunch of us went sledding (on "crazy carpets", those cheap thin plastic sheets which has no generic name that I know of). Has a tradition started? We went again this year. Megan and I went down together on Russell's foam-board thingee (he spent the money on something much thicker and slicker than a crazy carpet).

Megan fell off halfway down the hill but I hung on to the bitter and and crashed all the way through a bush and into a tree. Russell had to pull me out because I was stuck in there pretty good with my legs straight up in the air and slightly disoriented. Hee hee hee!! So fun!! I'd go out and do it again today but it's a whopping -32 degrees right now.

I made a few New Years resolutions.
  • Keep better contact with friends (I'm so bad at writing people back)
  • Exercise regularly (I've become less mobile since moving to Vegreville)
  • Make my Space Channel 5 website fully functional
  • Make a Cool Girl / Cy Girls site
  • Own more than two pairs of decent pants (most of the pants I own are five to ten years old)
